Exercises in the Exaltation of Orris Root

I have been getting into Iris for a while now. My first introduction into this wonderful material, started with Prada’s L’Homme, and has now taken me to journey onto this, Iris Malikhân…

From the moment I opened the cap, and sprayed it onto my skin; this luxurious mixture of Orris root, vanilla, leather, Lentisque, and a cornucopia of aromatic notes, captivated me.
The sharp rich, earthy tones of Orris, create a whirlwind that sucks you into the creamy Vanilla/Leather nuances, with Galbanum creating a tenacious green punch to the senses. The opening of this fragrance will either make you immediately wash it off, or you’ll be stunned in silence as I was.
As it dries, gentle Amber nuances combine into a spicy aura of coriander and pink pepper, and this is where I REALLY start to like this fragrance.

The Orris and Leather from the opening are still present here, and when the gentle Ambery nuances begin blending with the cypress/cinnmon.. There is this… Sensual, spicy, green woodiness happening that is hard to describe, but it smells wonderful off my skin.
This doesn’t project massively, but I’m okay with that, this is delectably delicious in all its facets when I smell it.
This is a fragrance that IF I had a full bottle, I would wear this, any time, any day, anywhere. I love it that much. This fragrance is like a warm hug from someone you love.

My order came packaged with care, and as someone with vision issues, I highly appreciate legible text/logos on labels, and these hit the mark. My decant came in the same decant bottles I myself use, so I trust them and the mist pattern is superb! Definitely order from Cologne Cove, and do yourself a favor, and sample, Iris Malikhân.
